Pokémon Sun & Moon beta testing review

Poke'mon Sun and Moon, the newest installation in the Poke'mon Franchise. Many fans wonder in anticipation what adventures lie in store November 18th. Well I managed to get the demo to see just what was in store for generation 7 and I was not disappointed with the advancements.

WARNING : SPOILER ALERT

I started as a young boy named Sun. I go to check my mailbox and come to realize I had recived a letter , and a pokeball. The note had no name , no information what so ever , but it did have a greninja. Then after the traditional "talking to mother and friend" cutscene I was threatened by members of Team Skull (who are obviously greatly influenced by rap). They tried to steal my pokemon and were instantly denied by the glorious Greninja that I had recived earlier. Afterwards I proceeded to Ten Carrit Hills for a trial. Walking there was quite fun as I had discovered then , while attacking underneath the attack i chose it said "super effective" while the one underneath my second said "effective". It dawned on me the game tells you beforehand if your attack is good or no good! So I took it a step further and used double team.

Right next to Greninja on the bottom screen was a bubble. Upon pressing it the bottom screen changed , showing me all my stats and which ones were positive or negative. This new system they are using is so convenient it's never been better to be a new trainer. Upon making it to Ten Karrit Hill , the demos professor presented me with the Poke'finder, basically a Rotom possessed camera and a pikachu companion to boot! I'm then tasked with finding and photographing 2 jangmo-o and 2 Hakamo- o. After each one gets photographed, they attack the player. Upon photographing and defeating 3 of the 4 you go outside to a clearing where you must photograph and challenge a Hakamo-o. However it wasn't normal, this was the demos first "totem" poke'mon. It had a gold shining aura emit from it gaining increased special defence. I though well it'll still go down , which it did , but it did something I wasn't expecting beforehand, it called for back- up! Immediately a Rockruff joins in the fray. I had finished my trial and was presented a Z- Ring and a Z- Crystal.

Before I could relish in my accomplishment , Team Skull decided to interrupt. This time however they brought their teams admin, Plumeria. She hesitates a fight but here grunts pleaded and she eventually obliged. Before the battle commences the Z- Stone is given to pikachu and opens up a Z- move that obliterated three competitions Golbat. Defeated they turn tail and retreat. Then the demo ends temporarily , placing me back at town with my Greninja to explore. I find that you can battle, ride on a Tauros that they bequeath to you. The player is also given items which can be transferred to Sun/Moon apon it's release.Don't think this will be the end of it however , there are still more time based events on the demo that aren't unlocked yet.

Over all I think Pokemon Sun and Moon will be a great addition to the Pokemon franchise and hope that this new in-battle info system will stay.
